Active cell. This is the highlighted cell you are using
to input information. In this example, the cell address
is A1. This address appears in the Edit Bar.

Each cell can hold a sepa-
rate piece of information,
such as text, numbers, or
formulas. Each cell has an
address, like a map coordi-
nate giving its position. For
example, this cell's address
is A12.
