Cleaning the Printer Exterior

Before you clean the printer, turn it off and unplug the
power cord. Wipe the exterior of the printer with a
clean, soft, damp cloth. Use a mild soap or detergent if
necessary
Caution!
Do not use ammonia-based or alcohol-
based cleaners on the printer exterior.

Moving the Printer

Follow the steps below when relocating your printer
within the general area. If the printer is to be relocated
some distance away, repack the printer in the original
shipping container before moving it.
1. Turn the printer off and unplug it.
2. Remove the power cord from the back of the printer.
3. Close the multipurpose feeder.
4. Press the release button and open the front cover.
5. Remove the toner cartridge and place it in a foil bag
or cover it with a thick cloth. Keep the cartridge
level to avoid spilling toner.
6. Remove all installed options.
7. Face the front of the printer, hold the printer by the
recessed grips on both sides, and carefully lift and
move the printer.
WARNING!
The printer weighs about 40 pounds
(18kg), not including the options. Be sure to remove
printer options before lifting the printer. Use care when
lifting the printer or ask for assistance if necessary.
