TRAY FULL
The offset tray is full. Remove the paper from the offset tray to clear the alert.
OFFSET TRAY
MEMORY
Print data and commands have overflowed the printer buffer. You may have tried to transfer too much data, such as
OVERFLOW
macros or permanent soft fonts. To recover, press Reset for about four seconds to reinitialize the printer, or turn the
power off and then on. You will lose any data. If this error persists, install additional printer RAM. When this occurs
in PCL mode, printer will print the portion of the page that is complete on one page, get more free memory after
printing, then continue processing and print the rest of the image on the next page. When this occurs in PS mode,
printer clears data remaining for the current job up to the detected
end-of-job.
REPLACE FUSER
The fuser cartridge is expired. This message is displayed for one second, alternating with a general message. Turn off
the power, install a new fuser cartridge and transfer roller, and turn on the power again. Then, in the operator panel
menu tree, select FUSER ALARM RESET? YES.
WARNING CANNOT
This message appears when you select an illegal setting in menu mode on the operator panel. Reset by pressing any of
SELECT
the buttons.
PRINT OVERRUN
The data sent to the printer is so complicated that the printer firmware cannot process it at a speed that matches the
printer engine's speed. Press Online to print the page "as is"—some data may be lost. Or, set Page Protection to On,
print the job, then return Page Protection to Off.
OPTION FAILED
A printer option was removed (or failed) after printer was turned on. To reset the error, turn off the printer, remount
<option name>
(or remove) the printer option, and turn on the printer. Option name can be one of the following: CASSETTE 2,
CASSETTE 3, OFFSET TRAY, ENVELOPE FEED, DUPLEX UNIT, or NETWORK CARD.
CALL SERVICE
There is a fatal fault in the hardware. Record the error number to assist in diagnosing the problem. Reinitialize the
ERROR <number>
printer by turning it off then on. This may temporarily clear the problem, but the printer may require service from a
trained NEC customer engineer.
