Silentwriter 1700 Series Printers:
Limited Warranty
NEC TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (hereinafter NECTECH)
warrants that this product to be free from defects in
material and workmanship and agrees to repair or
replace any part of the enclosed unit which proves
defective under these terms and conditions.
Silentwriter 1765:
90-Day Onsite Service Agreement
The Silentwriter 1765 is covered by an onsite
maintenance agreement for a period of ninety (90) days
from the date of first customer purchase. This
agreement may be enforced only by the first consumer
purchaser and is not transferable.
This agreement ensures priority response from NEC
Customer Service and Support. It offers 8-hour average
response within the 50-mile radius of a service center,
between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Charges for
travel, onsite service, parts, and labor are covered,
subject to the provisions and exclusions of the one-year
warranty described below.
Silentwriter 1760 and 1765: One-Year Warranty
The Silentwriter 1760 and 1765 printers are covered by a
one-year warranty. Parts and labor are warranted for a
period of one (1) year from the date of first customer
purchase. This warranty may be enforced only by the
first consumer purchaser and is not transferable.

Exclusions to the One-Year Warranty
Except as specified below, this warranty covers all
defects in material or workmanship in this Product. This
warranty does not cover damage or defect resulting
from:

Improper or inadequate maintenance by customer
Customer-supplied software or interfacing
Unauthorized modification or misuse
Operation outside of the environmental
specifications for the product
Printing of non-supported media
Operation of the printer beyond its recommended
duty cycle
Operating the printer from a mechanical switchbox
without a surge protector
Improper site preparation and maintenance
Use of non-NEC products such as non-NEC toner
cartridges, refilled toner cartridges, third-party
SIMM, or third-party external network adaptors
(The use of non-NEC products does not invalidate
this warranty except when damage to or failure of
the NEC Silentwriter printer is directly attributable
to the non-NEC product.)
Removal or installation charges
Costs of initial technical adjustments (set-up),
including adjustment of user controls
Payment of shipping and related charges incurred
in returning the Product for warranty repair
