Software Environment
Several configuration, acquisition and application development tools running on different platforms are available
to the Z-Trak family of 3D sensors. They are available for download from the Teledyne Vision Solutions website.
Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio
Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio is a suite of software tools developed for in-line 3D metrology applications. Specifically
designed to work with Teledyne DALSA's Z-Trak family of 3D laser profilers, Z-Trak 3D Apps Studio simplifies 3D
inspection and dimensional measurement tasks on production lines, making it ideal for factory automation
applications.
This software suite is accessible via Sherlock 8.30 (or higher) for easy integration and quick deployment. To
obtain a free license of Sherlock, see Sherlock—Obtaining a License.
Teledyne Software Packages

Sapera LT Runtime and Z-Expert.
The Sapera LT development software provides all the tools needed for
configuring and acquiring data with the Z-Trak sensors, and for
developing applications.
Sapera Processing Imaging Development Library (available for
Windows or Linux – sold separately)
The Sapera processing Imaging Development Library provides a suite of
3D image processing functions for profiles and range maps.
Teledyne DALSA Software Platform for Linux
GigE-V Framework Ver. 2.2 (for X86 or Arm type processor)
The framework contains lightweight libraries for 1D, 2D, and 3D sensor
control and image acquisition.
Third-party Software Support
The Z-Trak2 and Z-Trak LP2C sensors comply with GigE Vision 2.0, GenICam 3.0 and SFNC 2.3 standards, and
also support 16-bit monochrome output mode.
Third-party software packages that support the 3D data formats defined in the SFNC 2.3 can directly interface to
the Z-Trak family of sensors.
Third-party software packages that do not support the GenICam 3D output types or formats must use the
Linescan 1D (mono 16-bit) output mode to work with our 3D sensors.
