Cooling System
Engine Coolant
• Do not open the radiator cap when the engine is still running or right after it has
stopped. The cooling system is hot and under pressure, so opening the cap
when they are still hot can release boiling coolant and cause severe burns. Wait
for the engine to cool after stopping (about 30 minutes) before opening.
• Take extreme care when handling the coolant; antifreeze solution is
inflammable. Avoid exposure to open flame. It is also toxic. If coolant is caught
in the eye, wash the eye clean with running water and consult a physician
immediately.
• When the overheat warning indicator is on, it warns that the engine coolant
level is low and the engine is not sufficiently cooled. Check the cooling system.
• Dispose of the drained coolant properly. Check the national and local regulations.
