After a long period of inactivity of the vehicle some
precautions are necessary to avoid any problem. It is
moreover necessary to carry out the necessary repairs
and a general check-up BEFORE moving off, other-
wise you could forget to carry them out later. Do as it
follows:

Empty out the fuel tank and the carburettor (see
"EMPTYING THE FUEL TANK" - page 78).
‹
Screw up the tank plug.
‹
Extract the spark plug and pour into the cylinder a
tea-spoon (5 - 10 cm
‹
Repeatedly move the kick start (or press for 2 - 3
seconds the start push button "

Remove the battery (see "BATTERY" - page 70).
‹
Wash and dry the vehicle (see "CLEANING" - page
79). Polish the painted surfaces with wax.

Inflate the tyres (see "TYRES" - page 26).

Place the vehicle so that both tyres are up from the
ground by means of a suitable support.
‹
Place the vehicle in an unheated, not-humid room,
away from sunlight, with minimum temperature vari-
ations.
‹
Cover the vehicle avoiding plastic or waterproof ma-
terials.

Uncover and clean the vehicle.

Check the level of the battery electrolyte and install
it (see "BATTERY" - page 70).

Refill the fuel tank (see "FUEL" - page 21).

NARY CONTROLS" - page 42).
Have a low power test ride in a low-traffic
area.
