Check with a thickness gauge the distance between
the electrodes (Fig. 47).
The distance must be 0.5 w 0.6 mm; if necessary
adjust it, carefully bending the earth electrode.

Verify the good condition of the washer. Once the
washer is installed, screw the spark plug by hand to
avoid damaging the thread.

By means of the spanner, tighten the spark plug,
rotating it by half-turn; then compress the washer.

Change the spark plug suppressor.

Put the inspection lid back to its place.
The spark plug must be well tightened,
otherwise it can overheat and cause dam-
ages to the engine.
Change the spark plug every 4000 km.
Use only the suggested type of spark plug (NGK BR7
HS - CHAMPION L82C), otherwise they may seriously
endanger the performance and the life of the engine.
