Repeatedly pull the brake lever to check the
correct functioning of the braking system.
Check the wheel centering.
In any case we suggest you to consult an Authorized
Aprilia Agent or Dealer who will check the tightening
combinations, the centering and the balancing in
order to avoid all inconvenients which could cause
severe damages to you and to other people.
Grease the rear brake cam pin every 4000 km.
If the motorcycle is used on dusty roads, carry out the
following operations more frequently:
Disassemble the rear wheel (see "REAR WHEEL" -
page 56).
Release the rear brake wire from the lever (1), by
loosening the adjuster.
Remove the brake shoes (2).
Remove the brake lever (1), acting on the nut (3).
Remove the pin (4).
Grease only the area indicated by the arrow, using
grease for kinematic motions (see "LUBRICANT
CHART" - page 85).
Be careful not to grease the pin (4) in the cam
area and not to dirt components or areas dif-
ferent from the prescribed ones, to avoid
compromising the braking efficiency of the vehicle.
For the assembly, carry out the same operations re-
versing the order.
Check the braking efficiency.
