Introduction

The AMI BIOS ROM features a built-in BIOS Setup program that allows users to
modify the basic system configuration and function settings. The BIOS Setup pro-
gram has a number of menus for adjusting various items. This chapter describes the
basic navigation of the BIOS Setup menus and explains how to configure the BIOS
settings.
The BIOS configuration settings are stored in battery-backed CMOS memory to
ensure they are retained even when the system power is turned off.
