3. Hardware Option Installation
The power of the unit should be turned off when installing hardware options.
This update guide describes a hardware installation into Option Slot A. Installation into
Option Slots B to D can be performed in the same manner.
3-1. Common Installation Procedures for All Hardware Options
1) Top Panel Removal
Remove the top panel from the FA-1010. (Remove the 3 screws on the top panel, and 2
screws each from both side panels. Remove rack ears if attached.)
* All removed screws (11 total) will be used to close the top panel. Keep the screws in a
safe place.
2) Blank Panel Removal
Remove the blank panel covering the slot into which you are going to install the option card
on the FA-1010 rear panel (Fig. 4).
When removing screws securing the blank panel, hold the blank panel so that it does
not fall inside the casing. (Fig. 5) Turn the power of the unit off before doing this.
