7-2. CPLD Update (PM 9225) (Required Time: 30 sec.)

Updating CPLD (FPGA 1) (PM 9225)
* FPGA1 update for the FA-10AES-BL and FA-10AES-UBL is the same.
1. Remove the top panel of the FA-1010.
1. Connect the ByteBlaster II to the parallel port of a PC (or USB Blaster cable to a USB port).
2. Connect the ByteBlaster II plug to CN4 on the FA-10AES-BL/UBL card (Card address: K.2,
5.0).
3. Start Quartus II Programmer.
4. Verify that ByteBlasterII (or USB Blaster) is selected (Fig. 22 ①).
If ByteBlaster II that is connected to PC is not selected, or "No Hardware" is displayed,
click [Hardware Setup] (Fig. 22. ②) and select the connected ByteBlasterII (or USB
Blaster).
* USB Blasters will not appear under the [Hardware Setup] list, unless they have been
connected beforehand.
5. Select [JTAG] under [Mode] (Fig. 22 ③).
6. Turn the power of the FA-1010 on.
7. Click [Auto Detect] (Fig. 22 ④).
8. If connected devices are displayed on the screen, select "EPM2210F256" displayed under
[Device] (Fig. 22⑤), then click [Change File] and select the latest pof file (Fig. 22 ⑥).
9. Check [Program/Configure] and [Verify] (Fig. 22 ⑦).
10. Click [Start] to start updating (Fig. 22⑧).
11. If [Progress] indicates 100% (Fig. 22 ⑨) and no error sign (in red) appears on the status bar
at the bottom of the window, the update is complete (Fig. 22 ⑩)
12. Turn the power of the FA-1010, and disconnect the cable from CN4.
13. Turn the power of the FA-1010 on, and verify that the latest FPGA1 version is displayed in
the FA-1010GUI Status tab.
14. Close the top panel of the FA-1010.
