Password security

The administrator can enable password security and set the password from the Password
Info submenu located at Main Menu > User Params Menu > Password Info

Password check
Enable or Disable the Password security feature. When enabled, users will be
asked to enter the password when first accessing the Main Menu (Default:
Disable).

Set Password
Enter a password of up to eight alphanumeric figures. The default password is
00000000 (eight zeros).

The remote terminal settings and those of ACS-9910 must match. So, if the
administrator increases the Baud rate of the ACS-9910 port, the baud rate of
the terminal emulation software (e.g. HyperTerminal) connection must
likewise be increased.

Set Password
Configuration changes made in the Password Info Menu must be saved to the
ACS-9910 non-volatile memory to take effect. This is done is done in the Save
Config Menu located at Main Menu > Save Config Menu. See Saving
Configurations later in this chapter.
