Set the power switch on the expansion unit (if
attached) to On.
Note: The expansion unit must be turned on before
the system unit. Otherwise, an 1801 (memory
expansion option) error will occur.

Set the power switch on the system unit to On.
POST runs automatically. POST normally provides
the following three responses:

On an IBM Personal Computer or an IBM
Portable Personal Computer, a blinking cursor
should appear in the upper left-hand corner of
the screen.
