1. INTRODUCTION

®
The Kustom Signals' Eagle
II series radar units come
from a long-standing commitment to the law enforcement
community to provide quality, state-of-the-art speed
®
measuring equipment. The Eagle
II series radar units
incorporate features that have never been available on
moving radar before.
Golden Eagle II units use Digital Signal Processing (DSP),
which allows Kustom Signals designers to add features
such as moving opposite/same direction operation, fastest
vehicle mode and the newest feature on all Eagle II series
units, TruTrak with Automatic Mode Switching (AMS).
This feature automatically switches between stationary and
moving modes. When the patrol vehicle is moving, it
directs the patrol search in a small speed range, thus
eliminating false patrol speeds while stopped at a traffic
light, combining speeds, splitting speeds, and shadowing.
To add to the flexibility of the units, Golden Eagle II radar
are available in either K-Band or Ka-Band frequencies,
single channel or the latest Dual Channel Microwave
(DCM) antennas. With (DCM) antennas, the need for the
operator to judge the relative speed of a same direction
target and press a slower switch is eliminated, as the DSP
automatically adds or subtracts the difference speed. The
(DCM) antenna also eliminates many false interference
signals (environmental and man-made).
All of these features and performance standards are packed
into a small, lightweight unit, providing the most flexibility
for the operator.
