3. Loosely screw in the two screws on the front face of the vee block holder until the screw head touches the vee block
holder.
4. Using a hex screwdriver, tighten the screws by no more than half a turn.
» Vee block holder fitted to drive unit.

Inserting the drive unit into the roughness measuring device ST2

1. Turn the roughness measuring device ST2 upside down.
2. If necessary, disconnect the extension cable from the drive unit.
3. Insert the plug into the drive unit.
4. Insert the drive unit into the notch of the roughness measuring device ST2.
5. Insert the side stop pin into the groove and the latch pin into the opening.
6. Press against the back of the drive unit and slide it forwards until it clicks into place.
» The drive unit can be used with the roughness measuring device ST2.

Changing the probe

ü Vee block holder removed from drive unit.
1. Remove the probe from the drive unit.
2. Carefully insert the new probe into the probe holder on the front face of the drive unit.
3. Take note of the plug arrangement.
» Probe changed.

CONNECTING TO THE POWER SUPPLY

» Before starting any installation, cleaning or maintenance work, disconnect the device from the mains power supply.
» Electrical installation, maintenance and repair may be performed only by trained specialists.
» For indoor use only.
» If power cables or sockets are damaged, immediately disconnect the device from the power supply, do not continue to
use the device.
» Do not drive over, pinch or crush cables.
» Do not store liquids in the vicinity of electrically live components.
» Do not operate with wet or damp hands.
» Check the power supply against the rated voltage and frequency shown on the nameplate, and ensure they are
identical.
ü Roughness measuring device ST2 has been unpacked and set up.
1. Using an adapter to IEC 60320 C13, connect the country-specific mains power cord to the low-power equipment socket.
2. Connect the USB-A cable to the power adapter.
3. Connect the micro USB cable to the roughness measuring device ST2.
» Power supply has been established.

CHARGING THE BATTERY

To charge the battery, use the supplied power adapter and USB cable.
Charge the battery in the following situations:
 Initial commissioning.
 If the last use was three months ago.
 The battery symbol appears on the display.
ü Power supply unit connected to power supply.
1. Connect the micro USB cable to the power supply unit and the device.
» The battery symbol appears on the display. The light strip LED flashes.
2. Charge the battery for at least 180 minutes.
» Battery charged.
NOTICE! After 180 minutes, the roughness measuring device ST2 automatically switches from rapid charge to
trickle charge.
