8. Measurements with the roughness measuring device ST2 can be started as follows:
» Press the start button on the roughness measuring device ST2.
» Activate the selected trigger in the "MarCom Professional" software.

9. After every measurement, the numerical values of all of the parameters enabled on the roughness measuring device
ST2 are transferred to the selected destination in the following format:
» Unit as shown on the roughness measuring device ST2 screen.

» Decimal places as shown on the roughness measuring device ST2 screen.
» Results that cannot be evaluated are exported as "---".

10.1.

REPLACING THE BATTERY

Use only original replacement parts and wearing parts.

Ensure that all of the works listed below are carried out by qualified specialist personnel:
1. Use a Torx screwdriver to undo the four screws on the underside of the roughness measuring device ST2.
2. Set the roughness measuring device ST2 on its vee block base.

3. Carefully tilt the top of the roughness measuring device ST2 90° to the left.
4. Pull the plugs out of the terminals on the board.
5. Use a Torx Plus screwdriver to undo the three screws on the mounting.

6. Remove the battery with mounting affixed.
7. Insert the new battery with mounting.
8. Use a Torx Plus screwdriver to tighten the three self-tapping screws on the mounting with a torque of 0.4 Nm.

9. Connect the plugs to the terminals on the board.
10. Replace the top of the roughness measuring device ST2.
nl 11. Insert the four self-tapping screws and tighten them with a torque of 1 Nm using a Torx screwdriver.
12. Switch on the roughness measuring device ST2 and check that it works properly.
13. Check the settings on the roughness measuring device ST2.

14. Fully charge the battery of the roughness measuring device ST2.

CHECKING THE INTEGRATED STANDARD

1. Position a suitable roughness measuring device such that the probe is on top of the standard and a traversing length of

5.6 mm can be measured.
2. Set the traversing length Lt = 5.6 mm on the roughness measuring device.
3. Perform the measurements and read off the measured value for Rz.

4. Average the measured Rz values.
5. Enter the calculated Rz value as the Rz nominal value during the next calibration with the roughness measuring device
ST2.

PERFORMING A SOFTWARE UPDATE

All settings and profiles, results and records saved in the memory are retained during software updates.

NOTICE! A software update may only be performed if the battery is fully charged or the roughness measur-
ing device ST2 is connected to the mains using the power adapter.

1. Download the software update using the QR code.

2. Copy the downloaded file to the top level of a folder in the computer or a microSD card formatted to FAT/FAT32.
3. Connect the roughness measuring device ST2 to the computer via the UBS cable or push the microSD card into the SD
slot of the roughness measuring device.

4. Copy the downloaded file to the top level of the internal memory of the roughness measuring device ST2.
5. Switch the roughness measuring device ST2 off and on again.
