2.3 Hoisting and Transportation
LIFTING WITH A PALETTE JACK
OR FORKLIFT FORKS

A Palette Jack can be used to lift the
Assembly, if it is already on a flat surface. Slide
the forks of the palette jack underneath the lift
points, taking care to make sure that the Assembly
Footing Tabs are being supported sufficiently.

Forklift forks can also be used to lift the
Assembly by sliding underneath the footing on the
ViscoTwin
Motor and Bearing Housings. Make sure that the
Assembly is completely supported and
ViscoTwin
that both forks are contacting the
Assembly before lifting.
WRAPPING A LIFTING STRAP
AROUND THE LANTERN
ViscoTwin
The
Assembly, when bolted together
properly, is strong enough to be hoisted via a
strap around the Safety Lantern.
Using the properly-rated lifting strap, wrap it
underneath the lantern.
Move one end of the looped strap through the
other end, and then cinch down the strap around
the Safety Lantern.
