1.4.5 Spindle Options
Three different spindle pitches are available for each
itself has the following options:
• Standard EHEDG polish
• Standard 3A polish
• Hardened EHEDG polish
• Hardened 3A polish
• Hardened tapered EHEDG polish
• Hardened tapered 3A polish
Smaller spindle pitches are used to create high discharge pressures, especially with product at viscosities
below 2000 cps, at the cost of limiting the flow rate. Larger spindle pitches can be used for high viscous
product at medium discharge pressure, and/or high flowrates of low viscous media like CIP at lower
differential pressures.
For product with specific particulate sizes, the spindle pitch will determine the minimum pump size. For
example, if the particulate requires a cross section of 1", then the pump would need to be a Model 104.53
or Model 130.65.
