23.3 Reticle

Perpendicularity of the reticle to the horizontal axis

Adjusting
1) Level the SET2C carefully. Select
and sight a clear target on the
upper part A of the reticle line.
2) Turn the telescope vertical fine
motion screw
@
until the target is
o n the lower part of the reticle B.
If the target is still positioned cen-
trally within the reticle lines, no
adjustment is necessary.
If the target is off-centre, adjust as
follows:
3) Remove the telescope reticle
cover
@.
4) Slightly loosen one vertical and
one horizontal adjusting screw by
a certain amount using theadjust-
ing pin.
5)
Place a small piece of plastic or
wood against one side of the top
adjusting screw m o u n t as a
buffer.
6) Look through the eyepiece and
gently tap the piece of plastic or
wood t o rotate the reticle slightly.
7) Retighten the two adjusting screws
loosened in step 4) by the same
amount.
Note : Over-tightening the adjusting
screws m a y d a m a g e t h e
reticle. Unequal tightening of
t h e adjusting screws m a y
mean thatthe reticlewill go out
of adiustment.
