18) Installation of Valves

Install valve spring seat 1, and then apply oil to valve guide

and attach new valve stem seal 2.
Intake Side : Black
Exhaust Side : Green
Install valve 3, valve spring 4 and retainer 5 in the order

shown, and then, attach valve spring compressor 6.
Valve Spring Compressor 6 :
Commercially available item
Install the valve spring so that the painted side is
facing upward.
With valve spring 4 being compressed, use small screw

driver with small amount of grease at the tip to put cotter

Tap retainer 5 with plastic hammer to fix cotter 7 securely.
