11.6. Connecting to the inverter remotely

To connect to the inverter remotely, it must be connected to the Internet through a Wi-Fi network or Ethernet.
Additionally, the following requirements must be met:
The inverter must be connected to a local network with an Internet output in ports UDP80 (or UDP1194)
and TCP8883.
The device that the remote connection is established from must have an Internet output in ports TCP80,
TCP22 and TCP9001.
To facilitate the verification of both requirements, the INGECON SUN Manager software has a tool called
Connection test with the Ingeteam server. Follow the steps below to perform this test:
1.
In the top menu Utils in INGECON SUN Manager, open Connection test with the Ingeteam server.
2.
Select the network interface in the drop-down list.
3.
Press Start.
4.
The verification process starts. When the process finishes it displays the result.
INFO
By default the routers have the necessary ports for remote communication open. Otherwise, request the network
administrator to open these ports.
Ensure that the default gateway and network mask are correct, as the inverter will not have Internet access
otherwise. By default the inverter operates by DHCP and these parameters do not need to be set up in a network
with a DCHP server.
If the inverter is to be configured with a static IP, check the network setting properties of a computer or other
device in the same network, or request it from the network administrator.
Once the above verifications have been performed, follow the steps below depending on the device from which to
connect:
Connecting from a smartphone or tablet
1.
Open http://device.ingeconsunmonitor.com
2.
To access the application, complete the fields DEVICE ID and PASSWORD with the data shown on the
label on the inverter.
Connecting from a computer
There are two ways to establish a connection from a computer: through a web browser or through the
INGECON SUN Manager software.
To connect through a browser, follow the steps given for connecting from a smartphone or tablet.
To connect using INGECON SUN Manager, follow these steps:
1.
Create a new plant on the left-hand panel of INGECON SUN Manager.
2.
In the right-hand communication configuration panel, select DEVICE ID/IP as the means of
communication.
3.
Complete the fields DEVICE ID and PASSWORD with the data shown on the label on the inverter.
4.
Select the option Modbus TCP (502).
5.
Press Connect.
