Punch-Through Configuration
Punch throughisa capabiEy of the remote that
allows theVolume controls, Channel Up/Down buttons
or @anspe_ k eys(Play, Stop,Record, F ast F orward
andReverse, andSkipUp/Down) to linkto a different
device. F orexample, if your_ cableboxor satellite
receiver i s connected t hrough theAVR635, youwill
mostlikelywantto usetheAVR635'8volume control
commands evenwhenthe remote hasbeensetto
issue all othercommands forthe videodevice.
"Punch through" enables youto easilyprogram the
remote to do this.
VolumePunch-Through
Follow thesestepsb enable theVolume Up/Down
andMutecontrols from onedevice to be usedwhen
the remote is olherwise programmed fora different
device.
NOTEFOR VOLUME PUNCH-THROUGH:
The
remote's default s ettings arefor theAVR635's vol
umecontrols, to be usedwhenanyinputor deviceis
selected, withtheexception of theVID2_ button.
Thereisno needto program the remote forvolume
punchthrough fortheAVR635's controls withother
sources, suchas DVD. Tohavethe AVR635's volume
commands usedwhentheTVdeviceisselected, t o1
bw thesesteps:
1. Press andholdthe ProgramButton _
for
aboutthreeseconds whilethe message shown
inFigure 24 appears intheremote'sLOD
InformationDisplayI_]). Release thebutton
whenthe redlightundertheSet Button
appears.
2. Theremote's t.1_IMMEMUmessage (Fig.25),
willappearinthe LODdisplay andthe Set Button
will remain illuminated i nred.Pressthe
