SpeakerSetup
Although usingEzSeVEQ t o enterthe settings for
speaker " size" andcrossover p oint, y oumaywishto
makechanges t o thosesettings, or to manually e nter
a complete speaker p rofile foryoursystem. I naddi
tien,forsystems w here you withto haveseparate
speaker c onfiguration settings foreachinput,rather
thanusethe samesettings forall inputs, y oumayalso
configure thatoptioninthesemenus. Twoseparate
menus areusedto enterthisinformation, andyou
maychange the dataon either o r both,asneeded.
TheS PE AK ER S Z Z E menutellsthe AVR
aboutthe bassreproducfion capabilifies o f your
speakers. This,inturn,determines w hichspeakers
receive bassinformation t hatis derived fromaudio
tracksor specifically i ntended f or reproduction by
low frequency capable speakers bytheuseof a low
frequency e ffects("LFE") channel i ndigitalprogram
sources. Inaddition, bytelling theAVR whether s peakers
areavailable f orthe Surround Backchannels, the
information o n thismenuis usedto determine which
surround modes maybe used(e.g.,modessuchas
DolbyDigital E X,DolbyProLogicIIx,or DTSES,
requiring SBL/SBR speakers, areonlyavailable when
a speaker i s present i nthosechannels).
TheS PE AK ER X - 0 VE R menuis usedto fur-
thertailorthe bassmanagement system by determin-
ingthe frequencies at whichbassinformation i s sent
to a specific speakerposiSon. Thismenualsocontains

"small" o r "large". Thesedescriptions d o notdescribe
the actual p hysical sizeof the speakers, but rather

Usethe SMALL sattlng for smaller, frequency limited
"satellite" speakers t hatdo not reproduce s ounds
below60Hz.Inall cases except t he frontleft/right
speakers y ou mayalsoselectN0 NE. Thistellsthe
system thatno speakers a represent a tthe parlcular
position, allowing the AVR to select t he correct s ur
roundmodes thatarecompatible w iththe number
of speakers installed. Forexample, inorderto use
the DolbyDigital E X,DolbyProLogicIIx,DTSES
Logic7/7 channel and7 Stereomodes, y oumust
haveeitherLargeor Small s peakers e ntered asthe
seltingforthe Surround Backchannels.
Ifyouareindoubtasto whichsettingbestdescribes
yourspeakers c onsult t hespecifications inthespeakers'
owner'smanual, visitthe speaker m anufacturer's web
siteor askthe dealeror installer fromwhomyoupur
chased thespeakers.
Begin yourchanges t othe speaker s etupprocess
bymaking certain thatthecursorispointing atthe
L EF T/R I GH T line, w hichsets the configuration
forthefrontleftandrightspeakers. Ifyouwishto make
a change to thefrontspeakers' configu_aSon,
press the

or S MAL L appears, matching theappropriate
descdpfion f romthe definifions shown above.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I f achangeis madeto this,or

run.Thisis necessary t o integrate the changed param

runEzSet/EQ afterall manual adjustments arecom-
pleted.
WhenSMA L L issebcted, b Jvfrequency sounds will
besentonlyto thesubwoofer output. I fyouchoose this
option andthereis no subwoofer connected, youwill
nothearanylowflequency s ounds fromthefront
channeb.
WhenL AR GE issJected, a fullrange signal will be
