Opening and closing
There is a malfunction in the driver's door. Secure
the vehicle before exiting by selecting the "P" se-
lector lever position. Drive immediately to an au-
thorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service
Facility to have the malfunction repaired.
EX central locking: malfunction! See owner's
manual
There is a central locking malfunction. If the
doors cannot lock, you can emergency lock the
doors * page 39. Drive to an authorized Audi
dealer or authorized Audi Service Facility immedi-
ately to have the malfunction corrected.
Door lock: opening while driving is only pos-
sible with the emergency release. See owner's
manual
It is not possible to power unlock the doors at
speeds above approximately 9 mph (15 km/h). If
you must open doors at higher speeds in cases of
emergency, you can manually unlock the door by
forcefully pulling the door handle beyond its no-
ticeable resistance two times. Then press the
door handle back into its original position, if nec-
essary.

The vehicle is equipped with a power door lock,
which results in shorter operation distances for
the door handles (outside) or door handles (in-
side). For standard operation, only pull to about
position (@). Position @)is only intended for
emergency operation.
Opening the door from outside
> Unlock the vehicle if necessary + page 47.
> Only pull the door handle out to about position

Opening the door from inside
> Only slightly pull the door handle towards the
inside to the first position @ © fig. 22, other-
wise the door might not open as intended.
Opening the door in an emergency
There is the option of emergency opening the
door if the power door lock malfunctions.
» To open the door from the outside, pull the
handle once or twice to position @) © fig. 27.
» To open the door from the inside,
locked by pulling on the handle once or twice,
'overcoming the resistance to reach the second
position @) > fig. 22 and then be opened by
pulling to the second position an additional
time. Then press the door handle back into its
original position, if necessary.
Before opening the doors from inside the ve-
hicle, you and any passengers should always
check the traffic near and around the vehicle
