FUEL PRESSURE TEST
Relieve the fuel pressure and disconnect the quick
connect fitting (page 6-32).
Attach the fuel pressure gauge set and pressure
gauge.
TOOLS:
Fuel pressure gauge
Pressure gauge manifold
Pressure gauge hose joint
Fuel attachment hose 6-9
Fuel attachment hose 9-9
Temporarily connect the positive cable and negative
cable to the battery.
Start the engine and let it idle.
Read the fuel pressure.
STANDARD: 294 kPa (3.0 kgf/cm
If the fuel pressure is higher than specified, replace
the fuel pump assembly.
If the fuel pressure is lower than specified, inspect
the following:
– Fuel line leaking
– Fuel pump (page 6-36)
– Clogged fuel filter (Assembly of the fuel pump)
After inspection, remove the fuel pressure gauge
and pressure gauge set from the fuel pump.
Connect the quick connect fitting (page 6-33).
FUEL FLOW INSPECTION
Relieve the fuel pressure and disconnect the quick
connect fitting (page 6-32).
Turn the ignition switch "OFF".
Connect the fuel attachment hose to the fuel pump
joint.
TOOL:
Fuel attachment hose 6-9
Place the end of the hose into an approved gasoline

Turn the ignition switch "ON" and measure the
amount of fuel flow.
• The fuel pump operates for 2 seconds. Repeat 5
times to meet the total measuring time.
Amount of fuel pump flow:
98 cm
/10 seconds at 12 V
If the fuel flow is less than specified, inspect the fol-
lowing:
– Fuel pump (page 6-36).
– Clogged fuel filter (Assembly of the fuel pump)
Connect the quick connect fitting (page 6-33).
