Connect and tighten the positive cable to the battery (before connecting the negative cable).

Connect and tighten the negative cable to the battery.
9.
After servicing the 12 Vdc system, coat the battery posts and the cable connectors with battery terminal
protector (Toro Part No. 107-0392) or petroleum jelly to prevent corrosion.
10.
Install the rubber boot onto the positive battery cable.
11.
Install the battery cover.
12.
Close the screen and secure it with the screen latch.
Connecting and Disconnecting the 48 Vdc Battery
System
CAUTION
Before installing, removing, or servicing components in the 48 Vdc system (i.e., cutting reel
motors and motor/generator systems), unplug the 48 Vdc battery disconnect. This prevents
unexpected operation of 48 Vdc system components.
1.
Park the machine on a level surface and lower the cutting units.
2.
Shut off the engine, apply the parking brake, and remove the key from the ignition switch.
3.
Release the latch for the operator's seat, rotate the seat up, and support it.
4.
Locate the 48 Vdc battery disconnect, which is attached to the right frame rail under the operator's
seat
