Fault 91: 48V Bus Undervolt—CRM 4
Important:
When any individual cutting reel motor is shut off due to a fault, the TEC-5002 shuts off
the other 4 cutting reel motors. This may result in multiple machine faults being reported within a few
seconds. Troubleshooting should begin with the first cutting reel motor to report a fault.
Note:
All 48 Vdc devices are connected to the same 48 Vdc bus. If this is a system issue, the TEC-5002
combines all 6 of the 48 Vdc Bus Undervolt faults (faults 88 though 93) and reports a fault 29 (48V Battery
Low Voltage).
InfoCenter Display:
Fault Description
The cutting reel motor reports that the 48 Vdc bus voltage is measured at less than 32 Vdc.
Circuit Description
Each cutting unit has an electric cutting reel motor that contains an internal controller. The internal controller
measures 48 Vdc logic power, and the electric cutting reel motor measures 48 Vdc bus power.
If only 1 cutting reel motor is reporting a 48 Vdc bus undervolt fault, the problem is more likely to be with
the eReel motor fuse for that cutting reel motor, or with the 2-pin wire harness connector for that cutting
reel motor.
If more than 1 cutting reel motor is reporting a 48 Vdc bus undervolt fault, the problem is more likely to be
with the 48 Vdc system.
Conditions for Setting the Fault
The cutting reel motor measures the voltage on the 48 Vdc bus is less than 32 Vdc.
Note:
The TEC-5002 filters this fault and reports it only when the motor/generator contactor is closed.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.
1.
Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to
2.
Operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to
Note:
If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Test the 48 Vdc system fuse for cutting reel motor 4.
1.
Go to
Preparing for Troubleshooting and/or Testing (page 22)
2.
Unplug the 48 Vdc battery disconnect to prevent unexpected cutting unit operation. Refer to
and Disconnecting the 48 Vdc Battery System (page
