Fault 44: CAN Bus Fault—InfoCenter

Fault Description
A CAN bus fault exists for the InfoCenter circuit. The TEC-5002 lost or never established communication
with the InfoCenter.
Circuit Description
The InfoCenter is connected to the 12 Vdc CAN bus, along with the TEC-5002.
Conditions for Setting the Fault
The TEC-5002 must lose communication with the InfoCenter for at least 2 seconds to generate this fault.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.

Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to

Operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to

If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Determine if the InfoCenter is functioning properly.
1.
Start the engine and observe the InfoCenter readouts.
2.
Scroll through the screens to verify that the InfoCenter is receiving data.
Pass
The InfoCenter is operating normally. Go to Step 3.
Fail
The InfoCenter is not functioning. Go to Step 5.
Step 3: Monitor the engine idle performance.
Listen to the engine. The engine idle speed should be steady.
Pass
The engine idle speed is steady. Go to Step 5.
Fail
The engine idle speed is erratic. Go to Step 4.
