Fault 117: Internal Regulator
Undervolt—M/G

Fault Description
Insufficient voltage occurred at the internal voltage regulator and disabled the generator. The 15V undervoltage
fault is reported when the component measures a 15V system voltage under an undervoltage set point. This
fault causes the motor to be disabled. A method of detecting a system shutdown is also desirable to prevent
false recording of shutdowns as under voltage faults.
Circuit Description
The motor/generator controller monitors an internal voltage regulator.
Conditions for Setting the Fault
Insufficient voltage occurred at the internal voltage regulator and disabled the generator.
Note:
This fault is most likely to occur if the motor/generator loses power unexpectedly without the proper
shutdown sequence.
Recommended Service Actions
Step 1: Verify that the fault repeats.

Clear the system faults from the InfoCenter. Refer to

Operate the machine.
Pass
The fault did not repeat. Go to

If the fault does not repeat, an isolated event has occurred.
Fail
The fault repeated. Go to Step 2.
Step 2: Inspect main harness connector P37.
Main harness connector P37 is attached to the motor/generator. Remove the connector from the
motor/generator and inspect it for:
Damage
Recessed pins
Wiring integrity
Proper engagement of the harness connector P37 to the connector on the motor/generator.
