5.22 CHANNEL GUARD (ANALOG CONVENTIONAL ONLY)

Channel Guard is L3Harris' trademark for CTCSS (tone squelch) and CDCSS (digital tone
squelch).
NOTE
To select the Channel Guard tone:
1. Press Menu/Select button to access the main menu.
2. Use the left or right navigation buttons to display the CALL menu.
3. Use the up or down navigation buttons to highlight CHANNEL GUARD and press the
Menu/Select button.
4. Use the up or down navigation buttons to highlight RECEIVE GUARD or TRANSMIT GUARD
and press the Menu/Select button.
5. Use the up or down navigation buttons to highlight the desired option from the list and select
using the Menu/Select button.
6. The Channel Guard frequency is displayed on the main display.
The Channel Info screen and Channel Edit screen will change depending on this selection. See
Sections 6.4 and 7.3 for more information.
NOTE
The Channel Guard menu is only accessible if the System is setup for CG SEL
in the radio's personality.
A button on the radio can be programmed for Channel Guard Override (see
Section 7.5).
