Removing the Battery

To remove, press and hold the two tabs at the bottom of the battery and then pull battery up and
out of the radio.
4.4.3

Removing the Optional Belt Clip or D-Post

Remove the battery before removing the belt clip or D-Post. To remove the belt clip, pry up on
the metal spring towards the top of the battery compartment using a flat head screwdriver and
slide the belt clip or D-Post out of the groove in the back of the radio.
4.5

UNIVERSAL DEVICE CONNECTOR

The Universal Device Connector (UDC) provides connections for external accessories such as a
headset, a speaker-microphone, audio test box, audio test cables, and programming cables. The
UDC is located on the right side of the radio, opposite the PTT Button. The UDC facilitates
programming and testing the radio. The UDC pins perform different functions depending on the
accessory attached to the UDC.
