The switch must indicate ON and OFF positions, where the OFF position opens the STOP terminal circuit.
STOP circuit terminals are normally closed.
Turn switch to the OFF position.
2.
Upon initiation, the inverter display will read "Shutdown Initiated".

NOTE: This equipment shall be installed and operated in an environment within the ratings and limitations of the equip-
ment as published in these installation instructions.
PVRSS Self-Test
After commissioning, a PVRSS self-test can be performed to validate the functionality of the PVRSS using one of the
methods described above. Alternatively, functionality of the PVRSS can be validated for a substring using the following
instructions.
On the PWRcell Inverter control panel, press the right arrow key until the first PV Link device page appears.
1.
NOTE: The device page display should read Disabled. If it does not read Disabled, press the center button and disable
the PV Link.
Press the center button and select "Test PVRSS" to enter the 'Testing PVRSS' state. The display indicates 'Test-

ing PVRSS' during the test process, which can take up to three minutes. Upon successful completion, the display
will read 'Test Success'.

2020 and 2023 NEC
The 2020 and 2023 NEC have multiple available methods for meeting rapid shutdown requirements within the array
boundary in section 690.12. One option is to deploy a listed PV hazard control system (PVHCS). The S2502HC PV
Link and the PWRcell Inverter are both UL 3741 listed PVHCE.
When installed in accordance with the guidelines provided in this section, the PWRcell Inverter and S2502HC PV Link,
in combination with properly rated solar panels (see requirements below), and optionally, a properly rated external
STOP switch (see requirements below) form a comprehensive PVHCS, compliant with the requirements of NEC
690.12(B)(2). PVRSS functionality is retained for conductors leaving the array boundary in accordance with NEC
690.12(B)(1).
When a rapid shutdown is initiated (see
hazards within the array are sufficiently reduced in accordance with UL 3741.The rapid shutdown initiator performs the
PVHCE initiation, and must be installed in accordance with requirements for rapid shutdown initiators per the NEC and
per the additional requirements in
Refer to the S2502HC installation manual for instructions on how to design the array in accordance with PVHCS
requirements.
Required PVHCE Equipment and Component Ratings
The equipment listed in the following table must be installed in accordance with the manufacturers installation instruc-
tions in order to establish a UL 3741 listed PVHCS. Entries that contain the text "(optional)" are not required to establish
a listed PVHCS, but must meet the listed rating requirements if they are used as part of the PVHCS.
