Transport Tray Assembly Replacement Guide

Introduction

About this Manual

This manual describes the procedure for replacing the transport tray assembly in a
Spectra 12K Library or a Spectra 64K library, and how to configure and calibrate the
assembly after it has been installed.
About the Transport Tray Assembly
The transport tray assembly in Spectra 12K and Spectra 64K libraries moves within the
robotic rack assembly. Its job is to transport tape cartridges between the tape drives,
tape slots, and the entry/exit (E/E) port(s). The main component of the transport tray
assembly is the robotic picker, which handles the tape cartridges. The robotic picker
has arms that grab and hold one tape cartridge at a time while it travels along the
transport tray. A bar code reader located on the robotic picker reads the bar code label
on each tape cartridge to ensure accuracy.
