4. Secure piston rod (2) horizontally by clamping the
rod end of piston rod (2) in a vise and placing the
other end on a block, as illustrated. Be sure to
place protective covers between the rod end and
the vice.

5. Remove set screw (4) and steel ball (3) from the
hexagonal part of the piston. Remove piston as-
sembly (7) and cushion bearing (16).
NOTE: As the set screw head is mushroomed when in-
stalled, be sure to cut the mushroomed part
with a hand drill before loosening the set screw.
