Storage
1. The service life of the Seeder will be extended by
proper off-season storage practices. Prior to storing
the unit, complete the following procedures:
•
Completely clean the unit, blow all seed out of
Seed Meters.
•
Inspect the machine for worn or defective parts.
Replace as needed.
•
Repaint all areas where the original paint is worn
off.
•
Apply a light coating of oil or grease to exposed
Cylinder Rods to prevent them from rusting.
•
Lubricate each point of the machine as stated in
"Lubrication Maintenance" on Page 5-3.
2. Store the unit in a shed or under a tarpaulin to protect
it from the weather. The ground engaging
components and Tires should rest on boards, or some
other object, to keep them out of the soil.
3. 3-PT Hitch Models: Raise Track Removers, insert
Parking Pin and Lower unit. Chock or block Roller
Wheels before unhitching from Tractor.
4. Drawbar Models: Raise the machine and engage
Transport Locks. See Figure 3-5. Lower Drawbar
Jack.
•
Relieve Hydraulic Pressure in hoses after
Transport Locks are installed.
•
Block Transport Wheels before unhitching from
Tractor.
