Parking brake reserve travel
check
4 • 7 notches '
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Shift the manual transmission lever in
neutral, or the automatic transmission
lever in®·
3. Firmly depress the brake pedal.
4. Fully release the parking brake.
5. Pull the parking brake lever up slowly,
and count the notches with a force of 20
kgf (44 lb, 196 N).
6. Check that the number of notch is within
the specification.

If the number of notch is not within the
specification, have the system checked
immediately by a Perodua dealer.

Brake booster operation check

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Shift the manual transmission lever in
neutral, or the automatic transmission
lever in®·
3. Stop the engine and depress the brake
pedal several times until the travel dis­
tance does not change.
4. Start the engine with the brake pedal
depressed.
The brake pedal should move down
slightly.
5. Stop the engine with the brake pedal
depressed. Hold the pedal for about 30
seconds. The pedal should not move.
6. Start the engine and stop if after about a
minute. Firmly depress the brake pedal
several times. The pedal travel distance
should decrease with each application.
