Maintenance requirements
(General precaution)
1. The scheduled maintenance service is
important to ensure trouble-free, safe
and economical driving. Failure to per
form the scheduled maintenance may
cause an accident or serious damage.
2. If you conduct the periodical mainte
nance, Perodua car owners may reduce
the chance of accidents or car prob
lems. Furthermore, it becomes possible
for you to find at an earlier stage mal
functions which may lead to serious dam
ages. Consequently, potential vehicle
damage can be prevented or the degree
of the damage can be minimized.
3. Therefore, all the Perodua car owner's
should be concerned to servicing the
Perodua vehicles with the periodical
maintenance service in order to be pro
tected from the accidents or unexpected
problems.
4. To prevent malfunctions in advance,
however, conducting the periodical main
tenance service only is insufficient. It is
essential that owners themselves per
form maintenance, such as the pre-start
ing check described in the owner's
manual, so that the vehicles exhibits no
abnormal change or phenomenon. Own
ers should get advice from service
12-1
advisor about the necessity of mainte
nance performed by themselves.
5. However, malfunction may occur on
those vehicles which are always checked
by their owners. For instance, if a part
instructed to be replaced periodically
should be used beyond the replace
ment intervals and the life of the part has
expired, there are cases where malfunc
tion occurs suddenly despite the fact
that no mulfunction had taken place until
yesterday. To prevent such malfunction
in advance, be sure to replace parts
recommended to be replace periodi
cally at the specified replacement inter
vals.
6. This section describe those items of the
schedule maintenance service recom
mended by the Perodua and their inter
vals. Be sure to observe the mainte
nance schedule.
7. We at Perodua offer you a new-vehicle
check when your new vehicle has been
operated 1,000 km (600 miles) since the
registration date. Note that, however,
the filters and the lubricants are at the
owner's expense. Please feel free to
bring your new vehicle to a Perodua
dealer for this free but very important
inspection service.
