10. Install the radiator drain plug and new
gasket, and tighten it securely.
11. Slowly pour proper amount of coolant
(ethylene glycol based anti-freeze solu­
tion) into the radiator and reserve tank.
Pour proper a,mount of clean soft water
into the radiator until it is full.
Pour the clean soft water into the reserve
tank to the "FULL" line.
12. Close the radiator and reserve tank caps
securely.
13.Run the engine for several minutes and
stop it. Allow the engine to cool.
14.Carefully remove the radiator cap and
check the coolant level. Add clean soft
water, if necessary, to the radiator.
15. Install the radiator cap tightly.
16.Warm up the engine to normal operating
temperature.
Check if any coolant is leaking from the
drain plug.
Any leak indicates improper installation
of the radiator drain plug.
17.After driving for a short while, check the
coolant level. If the coolant has de­
creased, add coolant with a proper mix­
ing ratio to the "FULL" line in the reserve
tank.

Drive belt check

WARNING
Be careful not to burn yourself with hot
engine components and radiator.
Turn the engine off and inspect the drive
belt for cracks, excessive wear or oiliness.
Have any damaged belt replaced by a
Perodua dealer.
Push the midpoint of the drive belt between
the alternator and the water pump pulley,
and measure the deflection.
Check to see that the deflection is within the
specification.
See section 14.
If the deflection is not within the specifica­
tion, have the drive belt adjusted by a
Perodua dealer.
