5 .8 Tw in Pipe Syst em s
Twin pipe venting allows exhaust pipe and intake flue to be
separated from each other. Fresh air is drawn in at a different
area from flue terminal location.
Fig 5- 8: Horizont al t erm inat ion required for exhaust pipe,
fresh air inlet can use horizont al t erm inat ion or raw end of
st raight sect ion of pipe.
PVC can be used on intake only on t win pipe applicat ions.
A.
Twin Pipe CPVC System or PVC System
Appropriat ely rat ed CPVC and PVC are approved for boiler
exhaust and air int ake.
To t ransit ion from Coaxial at t he t op of t he boiler t o Twin Pipe
CPVC/ PVC a kit is available. See Figure 5- 14 .
B.
Twin Pipe Polypropylene System
Single wall polypropylene is used for bot h exhaust and
air int ake piping. PVC can be used on int ake on t win pipe
applicat ions.
Use t he appropriat e t ransit ion kit t o change from
prolypropylene t o PVC. To t ransit ion from Coaxial, at t he t op of
t he boiler t o Twin Pipe polypropylene vent ing an adapt er kit is
available. See Figure 5- 13.
C.
Twin Pipe Separated Flue
