• This boiler requires a dedicat ed direct vent syst em .
• Vent connect ions serving appliances vent ed by nat ural draft
shall not be connect ed int o any port ion of m echanical draft
syst em s operat ing under posit ive pressure.
• Use only m anufact urer approved vent ing m at erials or
vent ing m at erials prim er and glue approved t o: ULC S636
in Canada, and UL 1738, or ASTM D1784 and D2665 in t he

• Support piping in accordance wit h pipe m anufact urer's
inst ruct ion and aut horit y having j urisdict ion. I n absence
of m anufact urer's inst ruct ion use pipe hooks, pipe st raps,
bracket s, or hangers of adequat e and st rengt h locat ed
at int ervals of 3 ft . ( 1.m ) or less. Allow for expansion/
cont ract ion of pipe.
• Vent ing shall be support ed adj acent t o each j oint using
st eel st rapping or equivalent . See Figure 5- 1.
• Boiler shall not support any port ion of vent ing syst em .
• Support horizont al sect ions of vent pipe t o prevent sags
capable of accum ulat ing condensat e.
• Assem ble vent m at erials in accordance wit h vent ing
m anufact urer's inst ruct ions.
• Slope exhaust pipe m inim um of 1/ 4" per foot , or vent
m anufact urer's recom m endat ion, whichever is great er;
back t oward t he boiler.
• Any "in line" elbows in flue system must be taken into
considerat ion. First elbow on t he t op of t he boiler is
included in equivalent lengt h calculat ions.
• Use U.V. st abilized polypropylene when it will be exposed
t o sunlight , wind, or prone t o freeze ups.
• Check for proper j oint const ruct ion when j oining pipe t o
fittings.
• Manufact urer requires use of an approved m echanical
fast ener, which m ay vary per vent pipe m anufact urer, at
every push-fit gasket connection when using a single wall
