• SAFETY RELIEF VALVE - Valv e designed t o relieve

pressure capabilit y of equipm ent .
• SAFETY SHUTOFF DEVICE - Device that will shut off gas
supply t o cont rolled burner in event source of ignit ion fails.
• SEDIMENT TRAP - Gas piping arrangem ent designed t o
collect any liquid or solid cont am inant before reaching gas
valve.
• SERVICE - Supply, inst allat ion, or m aint enance of goods
carried out by a Qualified Installer / Service Technician.

1 4 - GLOSSARY
• TWO PIPE SYSTEM - Type of vent ing t hat allows for
exhaust flue and intake air piping to be separated from each
other. Fresh air may be drawn in at a different area from
where flue terminal is located.
• VENT - Passageway used to convey flue gases from
appliance vent connect or t o out doors.
• VENTING SYSTEM - Cont inuous open passageway from
of appliance vent connect or t o out doors for purpose of
removing flue or vent gases.
