NOTICE
If overheating occurs or gas supply fails to shut off, do
not turn off or disconnect electrical supply to pump.
Shut off gas supply at location external to the boiler.
NOTICE
Use of CSA approved corrugat ed, sem i- rigid st ainless
st eel t ubing wit h polyet hylene j acket ing is approved
for use wit h boilers following t ubing m anufact urer's
inst ruct ions.
Use of flexible "appliance whip" gas t ubing is not
allowed per NFPA 54.

7 .1 Genera l
• Use piping m at erials and j oining m et hods accept able
t o aut horit y having j urisdict ion. I n absence of such
requirem ent s:
• USA - Nat ional Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/ NFPA 54
• Canada - Nat ural Gas and Propane I nst allat ion Code,
CAN/ CSA B149.1
• Install external field sourced manual main gas shutoff
valve, ground j oint union, and sedim ent t rap upst ream
of gas cont rols, in accordance wit h st at e and local
requirem ent s.
• Size and install gas piping system to provide sufficient gas
supply t o m eet m axim um input at not less t han m inim um
supply pressure.
• Boiler shall be isolat ed from t he gas supply piping syst em
by closing its individual manual shutoff valve during
any pressure t est ing of gas supply piping syst em at t est
pressures equal t o or less t han 1/ 2 psi ( 3.40 kPa - 34.47
m bar) .

appliance operat ion and service ( circulat or replacem ent ,
condensat e t rap, cont rol replacem ent , et c.) .
• Gas m et er and supply pipes m ust be capable of delivering
t he list ed quant it y of gas in addit ion t o dem and from any
ot her appliances in t he house. Boiler requires a m inim um
3/ 4" ( 19.5 m m ) gas supply pipe.
• Support piping wit h hooks st raps, bands, bracket s,
hangers, or building st ruct ure com ponent s t o prevent or
dam pen excessive vibrat ions and prevent st rain on gas
connect ion. Boiler will not support piping weight .
• Use thread (j oint) com pound (pipe dope) suitable for
liquefied petroleum gas.
• Leak t est boiler and gas line connect ions before placing
boiler int o operat ion.
