6 .4 Trim Piping

• Tem perat ure - Pressure Gauge. I nst all t em perat ure
pressure gauge using piping provided wit h boiler. See
Figure 6- 1.
• Som e boiler m odels m ay have int egral drain valve locat ed
inside j acket direct ly underneat h pum p. I nst all provided
ext ernal drain valve as required.

Burn and scald hazard. Verify all plast ic caps are
rem oved from boiler connect ions. Failure t o follow
t hese inst ruct ions could result in deat h or serious
inj ury.
6 .5 Syst em Piping
• Ensure plugs are rem oved from boiler wat er connect ions.
• See Figure 6-6 for basic system piping configurations.
• Systems with automatic fill valves require back flow
prevent ion device.
• Single boiler system . See Figures 6- 3 for CSD- 1 and 6- 6 for
residential. Please refer to the Application Guide for advice on
piping. Addit ional considerat ions:
• Boiler cont rol only support s int egrat ed pum p. I n st aller
r espon sible f or in t egr at ion of m u lt iple cent ral heat ing
pumps using field supplied external control.
• Bo i l e r co n t r o l a l l o w s d o m e st i c h o t w a t e r
p r i o r i t i z at ion.
• Thoroughly flush all hydronic piping.
• Secure all valves/fittings to boiler.
• Manufacturer recom m ends installing an isolation and purge
valve to use during com m issioning to ensure the boiler does
not shut down due to over-temperature. See figure 6-3 and
section 6- 7 for details.
• Do not install isolation valve between boiler and any field
installed LWCO.
• Ensure washers supplied are utilized.
• I f soldering piping t o boiler, avoid over heat ing and
dam aging seals and gasket s.
• Connect system valve pipe work to the boiler.
• Route pressure relief valve discharge piping to the floor.
Follow local code with respect to necessary distance to the
floor. See Figure 6- 2.
