– Before installing loosen the intake manifold lower section,
loosen the bolt -arrow- and move the fuel rail -1- back and forth
in direction of -arrow-.
• If the fuel rail -1- cannot be moved, remove the fuel rail retain‐
ing bracket -2- and clean
– Assemble the fuel rail retaining bracket -2- and fuel rail -1-,
tighten the bolt -arrow- only hand-tight.
Caution
The intake manifold flaps could be damaged.
♦ To prevent the intake manifold flaps from jamming with the
baffles in the cylinder head, the flaps must be open all the
way in direction of -arrow- when installing the intake mani‐
fold lower section.
– Connect the Hand Vacuum Pump - VAS6213- to the connec‐
tion on the intake manifold runner control vacuum actuator, as
illustrated.
– Produce a vacuum using the pump.
• The intake manifold flaps are opened.
Note
If the intake manifold flaps are not opened, they may get jammed
when installing the intake manifold lower section on the cylinder
head.
– Press the intake manifold lower section evenly onto the fuel
injectors.
– Tighten the bolts and nuts for the intake manifold lower section
diagonally. Refer to
