♦ Safety Gloves
Fuel Pressure, Checking
• Battery voltage at least 12.5 V.
• Fuel filter is OK.
•
Fuel tank minimum
• Fuel Pump Control Module - J538- OK
• The ignition is off.
WARNING
The fuel system is under pressure! Before opening the system,
place clean rags around the connection. Then release pres‐
sure by carefully loosening the connection.
– Fold the boot -1- to the side and disconnect the fuel line.
– First push the hose coupling -2- downward -arrow A-, then
press the release buttons -arrow B-.
– Remove the hose coupling with the release buttons pressed.
– Connect the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - Adapter 23 -
VAG1318/23- and Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - Adapter Set -
VAG1318/17A- on the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - VAG1318- .
– Attach the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - Adapter Set - Adapter -
VAG1318/17-1A- to the fuel line from the fuel tank.
– Connect the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - CO Adapter -
VAG1318/11- to the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - VAG1318- .
– Push an assisting hose -arrow- onto it and hold it into a meas‐
uring container.
