– Turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation -arrow-
using the Crankshaft Socket - T40058- and the offset open-
end wrench. While doing so, push the roller tappet into the
housing, until it has reached the lowest point.
– Only lift the high pressure line slightly to insert the high pres‐
sure pump.
– Tighten the bolts on the high pressure pump. Refer to

Sequence"" , page 47
– Install the high pressure line. Refer to
⇒ "3.15 High Pressure Line, Removing and Installing",

– Check the fuel system for leaks. Refer to

Note
Coat new oxygen sensors with an assembly paste.
Only the thread may be coated with hot bolt paste on a used oxygen sensor. Refer to the Parts Catalog
Assembly paste or hot bolt paste must not enter the slots on the sensor body.
