Audi Q7 2007 ➤
Fuel Injection and Ignition - Edition 02.2015
– Close shut-off valve on Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - VAG1318- .
Lever stands perpendicular to direction of flow -arrow-.
– Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .
– Select "engine electronics" in OBD.
– Select "output diagnostic test mode".
– Select "fuel pump electronics" and press "start".
Note
This function controls the fuel pump.
– Read the fuel pressure on the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit -
VAG1318- .
Specified value: 5.0 to 8.0 bar (72.5 to 116 psi)
– Stop the function when the fuel pressure stops rising on the
Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - VAG1318- .
If specified value is not obtained:
– Check the fuel pump delivery rate of the individual fuel pumps.
Refer to ⇒ Fuel Supply System; Rep. Gr. 20 .
Residual Pressure, Checking
– Check for leaks and residual pressure by watching for the
pressure on the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - VAG1318- to de‐
crease.
After 10 minutes there must be a residual pressure of at least
3 bar (43 psi).
If the residual pressure drops below 3 bar (43 psi):
♦ Check connection between pressure gauge and fuel line for
leaks.
♦ Checking the pressure gauge for leaks.
♦ Check fuel lines and their connections for leaks.
♦ Replace the fuel filter or fuel pressure regulator. Refer to ⇒
Fuel Supply System; Rep. Gr. 20 .
♦ Replace the fuel pump. Refer to ⇒ Fuel Supply System; Rep.
Gr. 20 .
Assembling
Assemble in reverse order or removal. Note the following:
– Switch off the ignition.
