Dummy Network Adaptation Module

Procedure: Remove the Dummy Network Adaptation Module from an ONS 15252 MCU

The DNAM is installed in the ONS 15252 MCU just above the passive optical shelf.

Using a slot or Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw securing the DNAM to the ONS 15252 MCU.

Remove the DNAM by pulling it out along the slot.

Procedure: Replace the Dummy Network Adaptation Module in an ONS 15252 MCU

Warning
Follow proper safety procedures when removing modules without switching off the relevant
subrack.
Place the DNAM into the ONS 15252 MCU slot by aligning the card edge with the upper and lower

guiding rails. The lower guiding rail is shorter and may require more care in alignment.
Slide the DNAM into the backplane. Take care not to damage the optical fiber.
Step 2
Using a slot or Phillips screwdriver, tighten the retaining screw securing the DNAM in the ONS 15252
