Communication Interface Module
This chapter describes the Communication Interface module (CIM).
The CIM is installed in the ONS 15252 MCU. The CIM extends the ONS 15252 MCU internal CAN bus
to another ONS 15252 MCU or an ONS 15201 SCU. The extension of the CAN bus allows the
configuration of several network elements into a larger functional unit.
Additionally, the CIM provides:

The Network Control Board (NCB) transfers information to the CIM on the ONS 15252 MCU
backplane.

3.1 Functional Description
